Interstellar agent Vitas is transported to the Southern Song Dynasty after a mission goes wrong, awakening in the body of scholar Julian Mercer with his technology system nearly useless. There, he falls in love with Lydia Everhart, an osmanthus spirit destined to seal the Night Demon. When Lydia sacrifices herself to save the world, Vitas embarks on a journey to bring her back.
