Clara Bennett, a modern military surgeon, wakes up in the body of a frail young woman in another era. Her family arranges a marriage to a crippled man, Alistair Blackwood, as a “wedding blessing” for her failing health. With her medical skills and a portable healing space, Clara quickly realizes that Alistair is actually a disgraced nobleman hiding his identity. Fearing political trouble, she keeps her distance, but after saving his young son, their relationship slowly changes.
