The Landlords of Crime: How a Haunted House Hid a Darker Truth

"Fresh grad Shen Qian takes a ¥100/month apartment—Room 014 (""You Must Die"" in Chinese homonym)—only to experience footsteps in wet corridors, lights flickering with no one there, and a neighbor who died a year ago warning her of three missing girls. When smarmy agent Mei Liangxin slaps her with a ¥100,000 penalty for breaking the lease, handsome security guard Wang Anquan (""Safe Wang"") becomes her protector. But his advice—""Ignore the ghost granny""—hides darker motives. The truth? Wang and Mei are traffickers who weaponize ""hauntings"" to break women's sanity. Shen Qian only realizes when handcuffed in a van—until police lights flood the scene. Final twist: Shen Qian’s missing best friend Li Yaoyao was victim #3. The ""ghost"" granny? A real-life vigilante planting evidence. Together, they turned the hunters into prey. "
